I am researching Patrick Gordon born about 1818, native place given as Stillorgan, Dublin. Patrick was a soldier with the British Army, joining in 1836 in Dublin in the 38th Reg of Foot. He was discharged in Cork in 1857, his last regiment being recorded as the 99th reg of Foot. At that time he gave his intended place of residence as Stillorgan.

According to his discharge papers Patrick spent 13 years in the Australian Colonies and I am trying to ascertain if he left any family in Australia when was posted back to Ireland.

If anyone has come across Patrick in their research or has Australian born Gordons in Ireland, I would love to hear from you.
