I am trying to find out more about my grandmother's family and their origins. My grandmother, Josephine McGovern was born in Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, in 1901. She had a sister, Monica (Mona). As far as I know, my grandmother's parents ran a pub in the town and her mother's maiden name was Dunn (or perhaps Dunne). My grandmother went up to Dublin to study medicine at UCD in the 20s (one of the first women to be allowed to do so, we unerstand) and there met my grandfather, Charles Kelly, from Killygordon, East Donegal. They moved to Liverpool, England and settled there, practising as GPs and bringing up six children - all of whom were evacuated back to Ireland during the war. The family seems to know very little more than this and I'd love to find a thread that might lead me back in time a little. Any and all help appreciated.
