Seeking information on the Knight families of County Fermaugh or Cavan in the late 1700s. At least seven brothers, and possibly others in the family, travelled to St. Thomas and St. Croix, Danish West Indies probably between 1805 and 1815. They may also have been in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The brothers were Richard G., William, Henry, Joseph, Samuel, and possibly Thomas, James or John Knight. Richard Knight was living in St. Croix, Danish West Indies by 1807.
About 1857, several Knight family members travelled to Ireland and then returned to St. Croix about 1860. All were members of the English Church. There may be family ties to Gould, Stewart and Dewhurst.
- Richard G. Knight was born about 1792, died 1855, married to Tamzen or Jamzen. Tamzen Knight died in 1842.
- William was born about 1798, died 1863.
- Henry Knight was born about 1801, died 1863.
- Samuel Knight was born about 1797, died 1852, married Grace Browning Butler (also born in Ireland)
