sorry didn't read your reply properly so missed that you had found the family with Richard in the 1890s in England. The note about reported ages stands, but from what you've said maybe Richard died in England, not Ireland as I had assumed. Were the children born in England ?

You need to order a death cert to see the details, my comments were in relation to the type of useful clues you might get from a death cert. English certs for this timeframe are the same layout as Irish certs, so you see the same sort of details.

You could narrow down the search for possible deaths for Richard in England using the district where they lived and/or the younger children were born.
