dont worry too much about the estimated year of birth on that death record, people didn't keep track of their age the way people do now, and reported ages, and hence estimated years of birth, are often inaccurate... plus reporting a death would be a stressful time for a family, so easy to make mistakes. One of my ancestors age is 'out' by more than 10 years on his death cert

given the relatively unusual surname, the location and also fitting with the general timeline, that early 1901 death is worth making a note of and maybe following up... The address might be a clue to connect to your Richard and the informant could be his wife Margaret
