I can't begin to thank you enough for the information that you provided for me. I gained information like the maiden name of Richard Lutterell's mother. I was also grateful to gain information on his brother, Edward. I believe, also, that this is one and the same family. I am still not certain as to Richard who died in 1901, it says that he was born in 1870 and that would make him rather young to be married in 1887. I have a copy of the marriage certificate and ages are not listed. My great grandmother Bridget Hughes Lutterell told inconsistent tales, so the best that we can make of her birth date is 1867-69 (from 1891 Census). I have the 1891 Census when they, along with sister Alice, lived in England. Alice is listed as 22 at that time. I can't tell the age for Richard but it looks like it may be 27 years old. Bridget is listed as 24. That would throw off the 1870 birth date listed as the birth (on death information). If you are able to straighten out my thinking in anyway, I would be grateful.
I don't know where Bridget came from before Dublin. The story goes that she "hung on the bridge with the boys" so her father sent her to live with a well-to-do aunt in Dublin. I think that her name was Ellen.
I wondered since the children were placed in a Dundalk orphanage before my Bridget came to the USA whether she may have had family in this area. Lots and lots of questions...
Thank you again for you kind attention to our family.
