Hugh NAUGHTON was born in 1 June 1824 in Arrah or Arragh Parish Galway. His father was probably Thomas. Brothers Thomas b. 1814 and James b. 1819. All emigrated to NY via the Sir Charles Napier 5 Jul 1844. Hugh settled in Boston, married Mary KENNY (born Moore Parish Roscommon) and moved to Allamakee County IA in 1860. Children, Thomas, Catherine, Hugh Jr., Mary, Elizabeth, Ann, Julia, Sarah, Margaret, John and Bridget. Mary Kenny's brothers or relatives Patrick and Bernard Kenny were witnesses for Hugh's naturalization.
