My great-grandmother, Ellen Carr Glynn, was the daughter of James Carr and Mary Farty of Ireland! She had four siblings who also emigrated to the US: John, Bridget (AKA "Delia"), Mary, and Patrick F. All except for John, the oldest, settled in the Boston area; John settled near Pittsburgh. They were born from about 1855 to 1869, which would seem too young to be the children of the James Carr/Mary Farty marriage that you mentioned--but I am hoping that there might be a connection!
