All Irish census records prior to 1901 were destroyed with some minor exceptions. Civil records of Roman Catholic BMD's were not required prior to 1864. Commonly information comes from church records most, if not all, of which are on LDS film. If you Google "Ballinasloe LDS records" you will see that some of the records go back to 1820. The LDS films can be viewed at an LDS viewing center nearest you.
