Thank you for your reply. I have not been at this to long but I have found some information you may find useful.

Daniel Kennedy/Margaret Fitzsimmon family. I have not documented Daniel but Margaret died 11/13/1871 at the age of 93. She drowned.

Their children that I have documented living in Inver Grove are
Daniel died at age 55 of Dropsy on 1/19/1875
John died at age 52 of Kidney problems on 1/17/1878
Robert died at age 65 of inflamation of Bowels on 7/6/87
all were born in Ireland not sure of county yet. Some family history says Henry came from Ulster but I have not documented exactly where. Daniel, John and Robert all died in Inver Grove.

Henry Kennedy (Susan's father) died at the age of 91 on July 12 1911. He married Margaret Harvey who died before Henry moved to Minnesota. I am guessing they married in Portland Maine although I have not looked into it yet. Susan was born in Portland Maine Aug 27, 1851. The 1857 Census show Henry and Susan listed twice, once at the household of John and Mary Kennedy and then at their own place. Susan was 6 at the time, so I assume they came to Minnesota in late 1856 or early 1857. During the Civil war Henry was in the Minnesota 10th Infantry. The 1870 census shows Susan Kennedy living with the James McNellis family. I haven't documented it yet but could his wife Sarah have been a sister of Susan? He married once again, this time to a Margaret Sullivan and had a son Henry in 1862 and a Daughter Mary in 1867. Mary Married a James Callan in 1889 and lived in the area. Henry became a US citizen on June 14, 1898.

I am still researching and I am sure I will find much more information. Here is other info I found that may be of interest. The death records at Dakota county list John Eagan as dying on 4/20/1873 of consumption. I found an Obituary on Esther Mc Nellis from the Hastings Gazette dated June 14, 1906 that reads as follows

"A communication at Inver Grove was released from Ironwood Mich., last Thursday, announcing the death of Mrs. Esther McNellis, who died at her home in the later place, May 30th at the advanced age of seventh-six years. Mr. McNellis died some years ago but she remained at the old home until two years ago, when she removed to Ironwood. The remains were forwarded to Inver Grove on the 2nd last, for interment by the side of her husband." Do you know why Esther went to Ironwood? There were a couple Egan's living there but I have not documented them yet.

My gr grand father had three children who had god parents from your connection,

Daughter Julia b 26 Aug 1883 god parents Julia Eagan and E Brown.

Daughter Susan b. 30 Dec 1886 god parents John Harkins and Susan Harkins

Son William b. 27 Feb 1891 god parents Thomas Fallen and Bridget McNellis

Daughter Ellen (Helen) . 27 Feb 1891 god parents Patrick McNellis and Marie Furlong.

I would love to learn what you know about John Eagan, Julia Brown, Esther McNellis and Thomas Eagan prior to them reaching Minnesota.

Thank you for your reply
