I assume John Fitzpatrick emigrated? Where did he go and when did he leave? Did he marry in Ireland or wherever he emigrated?

His civil and church marriage and death records should include what his parents names were.

The 1901 Ireland Census for County Clare for Trough townland doesn't include any Fitzpatricks at all, see:
