Classification: Query
Surnames: Counihan, McGillicuddy, Roach, Roche, Shea, Welsh/Walsh
I have a Counihan/Shea family in Ireland and have been told there's also a connection to McGillicuddy's but I don't have enough information to document anything.
All I do know is Daniel Counihan and Mary Shea, b. Ireland, were the parents of these 3 children:
Margaret Counihan (1859–1924) (m. David Roche/Roach)
Mary Counihan (1860–1927) (m. John Welsh/Walsh)
Deborah V. Abigail Counihan (1878–1932) (m. Patrick Roche/Roach)
These I know came to the US and 2 died in NJ, one in NY.
I have been told they were from County Kerry and there were 13 children in the family altogether, Deborah being the youngest.
If anyone has any info., I would appreciate it.
Thanks. Jo
