Classification: Query
Surnames: Leary O'Leary Mynihan Minihan Moynihan
Am new at Irish research and recently found the Irish genealogy site. As my husband’s grandfather John was only married to Hannah for six years prior to his death less than two months after their four child was born. The living family never met John and I couldn’t find much about him from them. Did find when and where he died and was married. His marriage record listed his parents as Daniel O’Leary and Mary Morehouse or Monhouse but death certificate has mother as Moynihan. With that I found the following couple on Irish genealogy site that I think is John’s parents by eliminating other options.
Daniel Leary married Mary Moynahan both of Rathleen by Rev E Walsh on 21 Feb 1860
I believe these are their children however the spelling of Mary’s surname is different for the last three children, when the couple are listed as having children they are then listed as from Clounts for all seven children’s births.
Daniel b 5 Feb 1861
Jeremiah and Michael b 24 Jul 1863 (twins)
John b 19 Aug 1866
(above children’s parents listed as Daniel Leary and Mary MINIHAN)
(next three children are likely this couple’s children as parents listed as Daniel Leary and Mary MOYNAHAN also of Clounts)
Bridget b 28 Jan 1869
Catherine b 9 Jul 1871
Margaret b 29 Jan 1874
Is anyone researching this family and am I correct in surmising that these Leary’s are all one family?
