I'm new to this, so any information will come in handy big time... I have a lot of information to offer, but need much more to continue pushing further through time to other ancestors. Here goes...

Patrick Mangan, (my great-grandpa) was born on a farm the family owned in "Ardlahas", which is just outside "Killorglin" in County Kerry, Ireland. His mother's maiden name was Margaret Connor (my great-great-grandmother). I don't know the first name of her husband, but Margaret Connor was his second wife and my great-grandfather (Patrick Mangan) was the oldest of the second family. I don't have any information on the first marriage. Patrick Mangan had a sister named "Molly" (Mary Mangan. "Molly" married a man by the name of Bill Joy (this will come up again later). I can't remember the names, nor do I believe I have ever met, any other brothers or sisters of my great-grandfather, if there are any. The last I heard, the Mangan Farm is being run by my great-grandfather's nephews, Eugene and Denis (don't know if their last names are Mangan).
My great-grandmother, Mary Mangan (who I was named after) (her maiden name was Doyle), was born on a farm the family owned called "Ardlahas House" (too similar to Patrick's birthplace...possible? Same name?), in a little town by the name of "Beaufort", between "Killarney" and "Killorglin" in County Kerry, Ireland. Her father's name was James Doyle (my great-great-grandfather), and her mother's name was Mary (maiden name was Doona)(my great-great-grandmother). My great-grandmother had a brother named Patrick Doyle, and a sister name Maggie. Patrick Doyle never married and he inherited the Doyle Farm. Maggie did marry a gentleman by the name of McGrath. They had a son and a daughter, John Joe and Cissie. Upon the death of Patrick Doyle and the death of Maggie McGrath, John Joe McGrath inherited the Doyle Farm ("Ardlahas House") and it is now McGrath Farm.
Both farms are large by Ireland's standards (over 100 acres).
I believe my great-grandfather (Patrick Mangan) arrived in New York from Ireland in the late 1920's, and then sent for my great-grandmother (Mary), which angered both families. I don't know for sure if they married in Ireland or in America, but I believe it was here in America.
The Joy's Farm, the Mangan's Farm, and the Doyle's Farm were all in the same area, and the three families are all inter-related over the centuries (I've been told as far back as the 1700's).
This information was given to my father by his father in 1981. He received it from his brother, my great-Uncle Eugene Mangan. He received it from Patrick Mangan (my great-grandfather). My father has a family tree for the Joy's dating back to the late 1700's, which was given to his grandfather by his nephew, Bill Joy, who lived in Philadelphia, Penn. at the time. The family tree was supposedly written by Molly (Mary) Mangan, who as I mentioned above is my great-grandfather's sister and married a Bill Joy. It is not my family tree, but as I mentioned above, the farms inter-related over the years.
Patrick and Mary Mangan were the parents of my father's father.
So obviously, I'm REALLY just getting started here...hardly out of the 20th century. But any help I can get...or offer if someone wants access to the Joy family tree...would be incredible. Thank you.
