Thank you for your reply - I could probably send you more information by email direct, as I am not used to this site and have difficulty finding my around it! However all I know about Edward Kelly senior is that he was the eldest son of Thomas Kelly of Loughbrowne, Co. Kildare (the family home)served in 12th(Prince of Wales)Light Dragoons and 8th Royal Irish Dragoons and retired as a Captain on 31st August 1793 after 29 years service. Married Mary Dillon and settled at Parnell Place, Dublin, his eldest son Edward born 1770. Second son, Edward, born 1771, youngest son Ponsonby 1775. No further details on Mary Pasley and Elizabeth. He died in 1816 aged 72. All sons in the Army.
I have quite a lot of information on "Waterloo Kelly" (known as Ned) too much to write here but snippets of events at Waterloo. I have seen the silver cup presented to him after Waterloo, together with the trophies and mementoes, and the tail and hoof of his horse "Bellona" - all in the possession of his direct descendants through his daughter Emily, who married Surgeon-General William Anthony Purnell.
Perhaps you have all this, and I can give you more information, but too much to write here.
