Richard, I am researching this Captain Kemmis for my local pub here in Cricklade, Wiltshire. A Boar's head which was shot in Muttra, India has the name Capt. Kemmis inscribed on the plaque on which the head is mounted.
There are at least two Kemmis' who served in India at the time of the first world war and I'm keen to establish which one shot the boar. I believe that the Captain Kemmis who is likely to be the correct one is a William Daryl Olphert Kemmis although I have not found any reference to his being a Captain anywhere [I believe that in 1918 he was still a Lieutenant and the boar was shot in 1913].
I would appreciate any further details which you can provide regarding the family tree info you have and his military record. Many thanks. David Tetlow.
