I am also researching the Donnellys from Johns Well, Kilkenny, Ireland. My great great grandfather was John Donnelly (died 1894) of Tullabrin, near Johns Well county Kilkenny. He married Eiiza Masterson and they are buried at Johns Well cemetery. The inscription on the family tombstone there reads; "erected by Thomas Donnelly, Tullabrin in memory of his beloved wife Anne Donnolly nee Connolly who died march 25th 1927 his father John Donnelly died April 1894. His mother Eliza ne Masterson died November 1901, his two children who died young and his brother James died January 22nd 1891 aged 24 years. Thomas Donnelly died 21 June 1941 aged 80 years. His son John died 6 Nov 1976 aged 79 yrs".
John and Eliza's daughter Catherine (Kate) Donnelly (my great grandmother) was born in Tullabrin in 1853, married John Tierney in 1883 and lived at Kilkieran/Ballyfoyle, county Kilkenny. John and Eliza's son Thomas Donnelly, born 1861, and family are recorded in the 1901 census at Tullowbrin in 1901.
Another daughter Anastasia Donnelly was born at Tullabrin in 1856. She emigrated to Australia (Port Lincoln?) and married Michael Mundy in Adelaide on 7 December 1877 at St Patricks Church, Adelaide, South Australia. Her husband Michael Mundy was a builder and contractor living in Port Arthur. After they married they lived in Port Arthur from 1877 until 1924 but then moved to 11 Devon Street, Mile End, Adelaide due to her husband Michael's ill health. They had three sons Daniel Mundy (1878-1963), builder, South Wark and "Brierdene." Gumeracha, Joseph Mundy (1881-1948), inspector, Commonwealth Audit Department, Adelaide and Arnold Mundy (1893-1982) of the Bank of Australasia, Adelaide; and two daughters Miss M: A. E. Mundy of Mile End (1879-1944) and Anastasia (1888-1891) who died aged 3 years old . Her husband Michael predeceased her in 1925 and by 1938 Anastasia had moved to "Tullabrin", Greenhill Road, Toorak Gardens, Adelaide, South Australia. She died aged 89 on 28 August 1945 at Norwood, South Australia and is buried at West Terrace Cemetery, South Australia.
