David, I am related to the above line, Philip Mcgovern, thru the Felix mentioned. We do not know where Philip came from when he married Mary McTiernan of Lower Sweetwood, parish Killarga, dau of Martin not James as stated. It was the McTiernan farm that they lived on. My brother, Rory, has taken the DNA test thru Family Tree DNA and if you want to know if you match up with any of the McGs in the program, I strongly suggest that you try it. I also suggest to get at least 37 markers run as it will definitively single you out to a proper match. We have a close match to Cloone Parish family of McGs that emigrated to USA and has descendents in the homeland.
