I'm trying to find additional details on: Christopher Gamble b.1854 and Mary Daly b.1857 who were both born in Portlaoise / Queenstown and married there on 18 Feb 1878. Seemingly he was of Northern-Irish presbyterian stock whose family ran a famine soup-kitchen. He lost contact with the family when he married the Roman Catholic Mary Daly. They moved to Dublin where he dies in the 1890s leaving Mary in straitened circumstances. I would be very interested in pointers to either family as I have access only to online sources at present.
