Joseph Bergin was my grandfather. He immigrated from Ireland in 1902. His parents were James Bergin and Catherine (possibly Kate)who lived in Cromoge, Co.Laois.
His death certificate says his mother was Catherine Tynan but I think it was Phelan. Kate Phelan married James Bergin in 1868. She is in the 1901 census with three sons, Michael (B. 1872), Joseph (B. 1874)and Matthew (B. 1881). She lived in house 2. Joseph married Mary Parkinson in Philadelphia, PA, USA. Mary lived in house 7. All in Cromoge.
