Hi Maggie, I have been researching the Shanleys since about 1976 and still have not found out where in Longford they were from. This is the family of my mother in law, who was Marie Shanley. Her father was Alexander who was the eldest of Patricks children. Alexander married Frances Emma Truckey (Trottier) who lived in Bay City. If you have access to the census records you can find them. Emma's father was Nelson Truckey who was in the Civil War as were Patrick Shanley and his brother Barney. I do remember Marie saying something about a James who lived in the Lincoln Park or Allan Park area outside of Detroit. I need to go through my information and see what I can find.
