Hi Isabel,
I spent the evening in the Church of Ireland RCB Library and though I have not progressed beyond George the Orangeman's first marriage (time ran out) I did discover something which may be of interest to you. I came accross the burial record for George's parents (Francis Dobson and Margaret Dobson née Deane) - I have the civil register entry for their death already but the writing on them is so ornate as to make it almost impossible to interpret some of the placenames. The abode at date of death is much clearer on the Mohill Parish record and now with this knowledge I can see that the Register record is the same. This records that the address they were living at at the time of death was Gortafadda. I know that this does not prove anything of substance but it may be another small step.
Best wishes
George
