Finding the McGlenn's from County Longford

Today I discovered that my great grandfather, Thomas McGlenn, came from Longford to Brooklyn, NY in 1833 or so. Does anyone know how I might narrow down the search even further as to what town his family might have lived in? It has taken me 4 years to finally get this wonderful tidbit of information! Thanks for any help.
