re: Andrew Adair and Alexander Montgomery apparently lived near each other in 1641 and Alexander's son, William Montgomery lived next to Andrew Adair in
county Longford, Ireland.
Andrew Adair's twin sister was Katherine Adair who
m. John Cunningham, son of Rev. Alex Cunningham.
Alexander Montgomery's wife was Margaret Cunningham
whose tombstone 18 June 1675, Doe Church, near Castle Doe,
Parish Clondahorka, Barony Kilmacrennan.
Margaret and John Cunningham were both children of Rev. Alexander Cunningham who took over Raphoe, co. Donegal, from Andrew Adair's father, Rev. Archibald Adair.
The above differs a little with the undermentioned :
Refer pp. 393, 394 "The Montgomery Manuscripts" (1603-1706)
written by William Montgomery of Rosemount, co. Down, N. Ireland between c.1696 and 1706.
Robert Montgomery, 3rd son of Hugh Montgomery of Bowhouse came to Ireland, sojourned for a time at Rosemount, where his son was b. in 1660. His son, Robert Montgomery m. dau of Rev. Alexander Cunningham (d.1660), dean of Raphoe, co. Donegal, Ireland.
It does differ slightly, but it does appear that
Andrew Adair (sister m. John Cunningham)
and Robert Montgomery (m. sister of John Cunningham)
were related and had adjoining properties in co. Longford, Ireland ?
