I know this is a longshot, but I am looking for the following family ties in County Longford. I know from the obit of James McDermott that one brother stayed in Ireland and I believe that Mary Neary (name is spelled Nearling and Nearly in places) and John or James McDermott with their son stayed in Ireland.
Any information is appreciated. Thank you so much in advance and I'd love to hear from anyone.
Maureen

Obituary for Thomas John McDermott: "Killed on the Railroad"
While Thomas J. McDermott and wife, Bridget McDermott, along with John Richmond, his wife and daughter, of Dunbar, Pennsylvania, were coming from Philipsburg on a hand car on the AP&C railroad, Wednesday evening, they were struck by the passenger train in Steirner's cut, near that place. McDermott was killed instantly while his wife escaped with light bruises about the shoulder and arm. Richmond and daughter received injuries about the head, and his wife perhaps fatally wounded in the head. The passenger train was running on schedule time and no blame is attached to the trainmen. Both McDermott and Richmond were railroaders.
