I didn't read all the posts so don't know if there is any info there for you.

I get an auto email to any post if I have contributed to it.

Drogheda is in Co. Louth as you know and does belong to a History Foundation that does have baptisms and marriages online. There are 54 Patrick Traynor's listed in their records from 1746, 3 in 1798 and 1 1788 and next not till 1829. There are 19 marriages, add 20 years and you get the
average most irish men married.About 1820? There are a couple in the late 1700 and the next being 1835, 1837, 1839, 1845 &1848 2 x 1849.

A copy of a church baptism should have father's name, mother's name and maiden name, place/parish, date, maybe
witnesses. A marriage record has just both father's names.

If you have his father's name you could reduce your choice for the baptism but even if you checked all 4 it wouldn't be that expensive. Most Irish records you need to pay for them as the offices are paid for by County Councils on a
cost recovery basis, but joining this History Foundation has reduced the cost greatly. I cannot put the website of the foundation on the message board as although it is a not for profit a fee is charged which makes it a commercial enterprise. There are few alternatives to find a baptism before 1864. You can contact me by regular email for the address, put Foundation in the subject: codeannette@yahoo.ca

You might find some records on either of these two websites, each county has different info:

www.censusfinder.com United Kingdom+Ireland+Louth
www.igp-web.com + Louth

If you know an approximate time he arrived in Lancashire you could look to see if he is one of the 20 Patrick's
occupying land in the 1854.

www.askaboutireland.ie (free)

None are listed specifically as Drogheda, however, I checked all of them in the 8 Parish's and of those only 4 are listed in the Poor Law Union of Drogheda. Homes, villages and Parish's would be within a 12 mile radius of
Drogheda to be in that Union.

The Parish's are Port Parish, St. Peter Parish, 2 x Tullyallen Parish.

eg:

Patrick Traynor, Parish of Port, Wyanstown Townland, tenant of Lord Bellew, property
1A land 1 acre 3(?) roods and 56(?) perches
(the print on my program is so small I can't make out some of the #'s, sorry)
1Ba house, outbuildings and land 40.0.16

In the 1841 UK Census are 12 Patrick Traynors and 14 in 1871, there being a 70 year old in Wigan! and in the 1841 is
a Patrick age 40, living also in Stuart St. I am sure you have these so I won't look them up for the details as I would need to use ancestry for that.

I would also make the suggestion you write to the few Traynors in Louth if you want to contact the relly's. See original post for that info.

I think that is about it, good luck. Annette Code
