I'm relatively new at this, but thanks to the Mayo Family History Center have made quicker progress than I anticipated. My grandfather was John Sheeran born 3 Oct 1877, Borehollow, Foxford district to Thomas Sheeran and Mary Reynolds. Thomas was also listed in a 1901 census as Thomas Sheerin. Thomas (with address of Muckroe)and Mary Reynolds (with an address of Boherhola), married 31 Jan 1874 (Toomore Parish); Thomas father was listed as John on the civil marriage record, but a cousin has something from his father that says the correct name was James Sheeran. Mary's father is listed as John Reynolds (a tailor)on the marriage record.

Other children of Thomas and Mary seem to be:

Michael Sheeran born 1882
Mary Ann Sheeran born 1884
Thomas Sheeran born 1887, baptized 1889
Honor Sheeran born 1892

I cannot find anything about the Reynolds side of this equation and am running into a deadend on the father of Thomas (either John or James)as well. Any light or clues anyone can give me would be much appreciated.
