I have only begun to do my ancestral research this year and have certainly hit a roadblock. I see that someone was attempting to find this family back around the 2004 & 2008 years but not to much info could be located at that time. I am wondering if anyone since then has located any new info. as several years have gone by.

Robert Kingsmill was from Ireland and came to New Orleans, Louisiana. Census records mainly show his birth about 1830. He married Martha Nixon, birth about 1831 from County Cavan, Ireland, as per a copy of her obit in New Orleans, La. They had several children in LA and both died in LA. Other than this I have no info on Robert and a small bit on Martha (which I will post seperately in Cavan area).

As per the previous forum request from 2004/08, it seems as though this part of the Kingsmill family may have been from County Monaghan. Additionally, someone posted that Robert and Martha crossed over on the same ship, Rahtadin in Dec. 1847 but I can't locate that passenger list on ancestry, LDS or free passenger list site that I found. I've also checked out the Brown family site and don't believe that Robert is listed on there so I am wondering if anyone has run across any info. in the past several years and would be willing to share.
