Hi Patrick Donohoe (1835) and his son, Patrick (1867) were shoemakers/bootmakers in Roscommon. I don't know for certain if Patrick's father, John, was also a shoemaker - which would be the timeperiod you're asking about.
They lived in a small town (Leggatinty / Kanespark) between Bellanagare and the town of FrenchPark. It was a small house with an small adjacent building.
Family story says that Patrick (1867) used to make specialty shoes and would deliver them as far away as Galway - I don't know how far a young boy would travel. I never heard any stories about Typhoid, but I know little about the 1841-ish generation.
