My great-grandfather was James Pallas who emigrated to Victoria, Australia in mid 1800's married Sarah Holden in 1858 in Victoria, had several children then moved to San Francisco, California USA about 1872.
His origin is given as Westport, County Mayo but we have some reason to connect him with County Sligo. We have been searching for information on James for many years.
His parents are given on his marriage license as Thomas Pallas and Catherine MacNally.
