James McCannon was born in 1761 in Province of Pennsylvania.1 He married Ann Worthington, daughter of John Worthington and Susannah Hood, on 24 February 1780 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Baltimore, Province of Maryland.1 James McCannon died on 25 April 1815 in Westminister, Frederick County, Maryland.1 Military service included Revolutionary war service: served as a private in Capt. Alexander Johnston's company and Capt. Charles McHenry's company, 5th Pennsylvania regiment.2
