I am specifically looking for any Judge person who arrived in Newfoundland before 1838.Judge is a very rare surname in Nfld. and almost all Judges there in past 200 years are related.
I do not know exactly where in Ireland they came from, but a now deceased relative had thought it was Sligo.
Many Nfld. Judges also moved to USA. The standard names in my Judges are Peter Francis,Francis Peter,Francis Joseph,William Patrick, and similar combinations.Margaret is standard for the girls for over 200 years. Obviously they also have the too common names of Patrick,John,Mary, etc.,which don't help. However,if your family has consistently had the double names I have mentioned, plus Margaret,we could be related,no matter what c ountry you are in. I have currently compiled 95 pages on Nfld. Judges.wardgreene@hotmail.com
