I seek information on the family of Michael Collins (b Abt 1800 ? d Aft 1860) and his wife, Catherine Davy (b Abt 1800 d Bef 1853). They lived in Achonry Parish, Sligo and their known children were Mary (b abt 1827), John (b abt 1833), William (b abt 1835) and Bridget,(b abt 1841). Mary immigrated to Sydney, Australia in 1853, John followed her in 1855, William and Bridget followed them in 1860. All the children were illiterate. Bridget's papers said her townland was Carrowntober, but I have no confirmation of this.
The Griffiths Valuation roll says a Michael and Catherine Collins had property in Drumbaun, Achonry, Sligo, but it is not known for certain whether this is the same family.

The 1901 Census of Drumbaun, Achonry, Sligo shows a Michael Collins (Age 76-farmer and widower - possibly the brother of the 4 who went to Australia) and his sons, Martin, 26, Andrew 24, grandson Michael 13 and a 10 y.o. servant named Bridget Feeley, but I don't know whether this is my family either.

I have tracked down most of the descendants of those who came out to Australia and now want to find whatever information there is about the parents and ancestors in Ireland, and also any siblings I have missed.

I am happy to share my info with anyone who can help.
