I'm afraid this is a fairly light on data query :(

My g grandmother was Kathleen KELLY. She married a Stephen HARRIS. Their son Partick HARRIS emigrated to New Zealand. I have no other family information on Kathleen, except a family rumour that we are related to the infamous Australian folk hero Edward [Ned] KELLY. His father was John [Red] KELLY b. 1820 in Clonbrogan, near Moyglass, Tipperary. John KELLY's father was Thomas KELLY b. approx 1789, spouse unknown. Their children were:

Kelly, John (Red) (1820 - 1866)
Kelly, Edward
Kelly, Mary
Kelly, Daniel
Kelly, Anne 1824 -
Kelly, James ~1840 -

I am wanting to trace both Thomas KELLY's ascendency and also those of his children especially Edward, Daniel, and James to try to prove the connection.

Any help would be appreciated.
