I was excited to see your message re the grave memorial for Thomas Churchill and his sister Betty Bouls, alias Churchill, in Ballymoreen. This is the FIRST real evidence I've had of a connection between the Bowles (it shows up in various guises including Bouls) and Churchill families. My GGG-GF Samuel Churchill's wife was Jane Bowles, but I've never been able to find evidence of their marriage (although there is an unsourced entry on IGI that shows them in Cashel diocese --which would match with Ballymoreen). This memorial is a clue as to where they may possibly have hailed from, since Samuel and Jane named a son Thomas, and their first daughter Elizabeth.
Would love to see a photo of the memorial stone. I think you can access my email by clicking on my user name.
Could I ask you another favour, please. This is also the first time I've come across any Bouls in this particular area. Would you mind checking to see if there are other memorials for Bouls/Bols/Boles/Bowles in Ballymoreen cemetery?
