Hello, This is very interesting. The first names are the same but birthdates and spouses don't match. We have heard the name Letsom-Moten before. It is connected with French Hugenots. The spelling of Motan also looks French to me. An O'Meara relative in Ireland stated that our line is not directly related to any Letsom-Motens. My furthest back ancestor was Michael Motan/Moten. He died ca 1890 in Tipperary Co., Ireland. Michael, his son John and John's youngest son, PAtrick stayed on the same land from 1856 until the 1920s. This is according to the Griffiths Land Valuations and also death certificates and family knowledge. Michael had 3 known children, 1. Johanna (1840-24 Jan 1924 Templemore married to John O'Meara 2. Ellen Moten (184101901+ married to William Kinnally 3. John Moten (1847-17 Apr 1927 at Roscrea, Tipperary Co. married to Catherine Gilmartin (1845 Gutuigarry-1925 Roscrea) My line descends through this John Moten.
