I knew about the Berkery connection. I believe long Andrew's sister was his wife. Berkery's also pop up as witnesses to a wedding of my line here in Australia.

My line arrived in Australia when my ancestor Hugh, who was the son of Andrew Kennedy and Mary Carew/Carey, was transported as a convict to Tasmania. His wife Hane (nee Fox) rejoined him in Australia and they lived in a little place called Forth where my Great Grandfather was born.
While there is some tenuous connection to Tas through Hugh's daughter Mary, Most of the family moved initially to Victoria and then scattered over the generations to Western Australia,New South Wales and Queensland.

How did your line end up in USA? Was it the famine?
Howard
