Am interested in your Thomas Hodgins. My Gt Gt Gt Grandfather was Thomas whose son Married Maria Dagg at Templederry. Form what I am told John was a Horseman, who moved to Durrow Co Offaly. Later on hte Family moved to Moneygall (around the time of the Famine. My father has told me that his Grandfather moved to MOneygall to stay with his uncle Thomas Carry. James had a sister Anne who married a Markesby in Templederry.
Their burial place is Modreeny. That Hodgins line died out with hte last Male dying in the late 1970s. My Grandmother was the last of her family who passed away about 20 years ago. The Guest family are still in hte area. As you quiet rightly say there are no longer Hodgins in Modreeny/Cloughjordan Parish, but their descendents are still in hte parish. The church records to examine are the Church of Ireland one Modreeney, Cloughjordan, Templeharry. The methodist records primarily are Cloughjordan and possibly Borrisokane and Shinrone.
Sadly the graveyard map for Modreeney was lost in hte last 50 yeats. My father remembers seeing it in the 1950s.
