Question why was it that burial took place almost three months post death.
John Flannery baker, husband of Mary Flannery above, died 25.08.1908 in Nenagh workhouse, informant John Grace relationship householder. Cause of death Apoplexy, Cardiac Syncope (certified). Burial date 18. 09.1908.
Question John was buried just over 3 weeks from death why ?. Twelve months previously he was a shopkeeper in Silver St, as was his father before him. What reason would cause him to be admitted to the workhouse.
John and Mary had three children William, Julia and John, William went to England settled in Liverpool had seven sons, John and Julia emigrated to the U.S. Troy in New York State , that was in 1910 Julia returned to Nenagh in 1914 and married Daniel Costello in 1917. John remained in the States and died in 1968, he had married but had no children, was employed as a Baker as was his father and grandfather.
In many ways its an interesting family history tinged with sadness at times, any comments and information will be appreciated.
