Looking for info on the following:

Thomas LOWERY was born in 1737 in Tyron, Co., Ireland. He emigrated in 1747 from Washington Co., Pennsylvania. Came to USA at age of ten from Tyron Co., Ireland with his mother and uncle named "Patterson". His uncle became 3rd Governor of PA and very well to do in Patterson, NJ. Thomas became a Colonel in George Washington's army. His mothers maiden name was Patterson.

He was married to Esther FLEMING. Thomas LOWERY and Esther FLEMING had the following children:

2 i. James LOWARY.

(the above is only a family story passed down to David LOWERY by his granddad. No other verification, as dates of emigrating and James birth place don't match up so this is suspect!!)

SECOND GENERATION

2. James LOWARY was born in 1765 in Ireland. (Tyrone or Cork) Floyd has a couple of different dates 1765 and 1754. He died in 1849 in Coshocton Co., Ohio. He was buried in Coshocton Co., Ohio; Foster-McCullaugh-Lowary Cemetary. He was a Trader with indians. In 1790 James was in Lancaster PA. Strasburg twp. Married and 1 boy and 1 girl under 16. Before that is listed in the PA Archives as a trader with the indians. (Need to verify if Jame is indeed a son of Thomas/Esther LOWERY. At this point it is only verbal story from David LOWERY passed on from his grandfather).

James LOWARY and Mary *UNKNOWN had the following children:

3 i. Thomas S. LOWARY.

Any and all help would be appreciated, and I'm willing to share what info I have. Thanks -- Jim Lowary

Hi James

There is a Thomas Lowry listed in, "Revolutionary Soilders in Kentucky"; Quiesen; Perry County Kentucky Library. He was born about 1759, served as a private in the Virginia malitia, and applied for a pension October 2, 1833 in Clark County, Kentucky at the age of 74.

My 2nd great-grandfather, Andrew Merrill married Lineford D. Lowery, the daughter of Lud Lowery, in Estill Co., Kentucky in 1847. I believe Lud to be the son of Thomas Lowery of Clark Co., Kentucky. If this is correct Thomas would be my 4th great-grandfather.

If there is a connection please let me know. I am willing to share information.

I have been searching for a susannah Lowery for years. Born 1791 in Maryland? Could be NJ or PA. She married a Peter Boham b. 1788.
Could I tie in somewhere?
