The first Storys / Storeys came to Tyrone and settled at Corick House, near Clogher in the early 1700s. These same Storys extended their influence and also expanded to Bngfield near Crossdoney, County Cavan. The Tyrone family are prominently represented in the Graveyard of Clogher Cathedral and many were Bishops, Archdeacons & Rectors in all the surrounding Counties.
The most noticeable name they married were the Boveairds where Mary Boveaird & William Story had eleven children in Camus Parish, near Strabane. The Boveairds are thought to be of Huguenot descent.
The Storys married the Aristocrats of the period - Sophia (Gore) Grattan, widow of William Grattan Speaker of the Irish House of Commons, George Lendrum of Moorfield, Anne Theaker - the Co. Wicklow heiress, Deborah Richardson - the Londonderry heiress, Widow Windus of the Boyne (in 1711), Elizabeth (Story) Twigg, Elizabeth Abercrombie of Clones, Mrs Blanche Christabel Hallowell etc etc.
Anyone descended from these lines can have my total data on the Tyrone Storeys / Storys just by asking.
