I am searching for my husband's family. The earliest I can find is Thomas Rodman, who was born in 1766 in Ballymena, County Antrim. migrated here before 1798 with his brother James, b 1751. He I'm sure had several other siblings who came with him. He married Agnes Neil, also from Ballymena, in New York in 1798. James was married to Jane Mc Conaghy, also from Ballymena. I understand there was a William Rodman Gallery in Belfast from the 1880's or earlier until the 1950's. The freeholder's records of 1776 show a James Rodman in Shilvodan Grange, Lisnevanagh Parish, the 1803 Agricultural Census lists David Rodman in Carnside Townland, Billy Parish, while I also have a copy of the Covenant signed by John Rodman of No. 30 Hudson St, Belfast. I feel these are all related, since the Rodman's used these names over and over again in their families. They settled in the New York area, specifically Orange County. I have a lot of information from Thomas forward to date, but can't seem to get anywhere with a connection in Ireland. Does anyone have any hints for me?
