Looking for information about McChesneys in Northern Ireland around 1830-40. My ancestors John M. McChesney and Charles McChesney emigrated to Pittsburgh in mid-1830s, naturalized in Pittsburgh in 1838 and 1840. Have not been able to locate their passage from Ireland to U.S. from shipping records, so thought I'd go back and trace them from point of origin. Any information or help/advice you can give me about McChesneys in this part of Ireland c. 1800-1850 greatly appreciated (church records, towns where other McChesneys came from, etc.).
