I live in North Carolina and suspect some connection with the Christmas family of Waterford. I noticed in a book called The Landowners of Ireland that Octavia Christmas's residence was in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire but owned extensive land in Ireland, specifically Kilkenny (579 acres), Waterford (4,025 acres), and Waterford City (1 acre). She must have gambled like the dickens to have squandered so much money. Anyway, do you have any more information on her? More importantly, have you ever heard of a Harry Christmas marrying a woman named Wynn Ellis? That's the link I'm really missing.
