Thank you for your message,Mary. I knew of Violet through her correspondence with my friend, James Tormey Clare, when he was researching his book about Father Michael Tormey. I am a Westmeath Tormey descendant, and my research into my family has led me to the belief that my G-g-grandfather James Tormey, a miller of Derrynagarragh, was quite possibly married to Catherine Murtagh. Violet was so knowledgable about the past, and although I was aware that the odds of her still being alive were almost nil, I took a chance and posted. And here you are, so I will ask you if you know the answer to my question. Please let me know if you have any information on a Murtagh-Tormey connection.
