Did your James marry, as he should have named some of his children after parents and siblings.
Its possible that Wiggington would be his mother's maiden name or a family name handed down. It is not present in any of the records I have for Wexford which isn't a lot.
In 1853 the Griffith Valuation of land for taxes is now used as a census substitute. None of these will be the parents of James but his grandparents.www.askaboutireland.ie
Ardvaven, Wexford 5 Daly's named Patrick, Stephen, Michael, John, Phillip
St. Mary's New Ross 4 Daly's Patrick, Bridget, William John
I know a Daly from Wicklow and her family were Protestant. Wiggington sounds very English. It is strange to think that at one time after Cromwell there were more English and Scot Protestants than Catholics in Ireland due to government policies.
Certainly there are lots of Wigginton's in England from 1602 - 1906. There were no Wiggington marriages listed in Ireland between 1845-1862 in Wexford. It could also be a name they liked and possibly it might of belong to a head tenant or the name of the nobility who owned the property they tenanted.

Wexford belongs to a History Foundation but todate has few
Parish's on line, having problems in the current economy.
There is no organized data base other than the Foundation although you might find bits and pieces. Most of their records are RC and usually only go to 1899.
