I remember John "Pud" Aimer. My parents, brother & sisters used to stay with him and his second wife during our summer holidays. "Pud" was a distant relative by marriage to my father. In those days, "Pud" and his wife "Joe" (Joan) lived in Dudhope Park, where "Pud" was greenkeeper. "Pud" died on 19th November, 1956, following the amputation of one of his legs. Having been a footballer, he said that he wanted the ashes of his leg to be scattered on Dens Park. He was a delightful man - as a small boy, I remember him improvising songs that he would sing to me. I hope that this is of interest to you.
