I am seeking information on John Jackson, born abt 1824 possibly in the Aberdeen vicinity. He married Elizabeth M. S. Ferguson in 1852 at Blairgowrie. There is said to have been 5 children 3 boys(1 Dead) and 2 girls. The boys, Alexander and George were entered into the East Dundee Poorhouse, after their mother died in 1856, in March of 1857 and removed 6 months later. The sons, Alexander and George appear in the 1861 census as boarders with the Andersons of Crathie and Braemar. The 2 girls remain unidentified. John's occupation is listed as Fireman/Ship Stoker. The last mention of John is in the death registration of his son George in 1941. He is listed as George's father with the occupation of 'ship stoker'. deceased. This suggests that John was a seaman, either military or probably merchant. I have exhausted all avenues of search engines but have cpme up empty .
Any information about his parents, birth or death I will be grateful to receive.

Regards,

Patrick
