I am looking for information on James Ogilvie, 3rd Great Grandfather of my wife Candace. James was reportedly born in Dundee about 1791. I do not know the name of his parents but one fact that may help narrow the possibilities is that James was a dyer by profession. My research on the Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee indicate that there were very few practitioners of this trade in Dundee by the early 19th century. James' wife Jane was English and her maiden name was probably Harrison. Their 1st child was Charles Harrison Ogilvie who was baptized in the Church of Scotland at Ferry-Port-on-Craig on 4 Dec 1815. James and Jane Ogilvie moved to London where James worked as a dyer. Their son Charles Harrison Ogilvie was baptized again this time in the Church of England at St. Giles in the Fields, Holborn on 12 July 1818 the same day as his sister Jane. James and Jane Ogilvie had three more children besides Charles and Jane - James, Helen and James John - all born in London.
