I have Gilmore/Gilmour on my line. Robert Strachan married Janet Ross Gilmour in Kilmarnock in 1846 and several of their children had Gilmour as their middle name. Janet was the daughter of James Gilmour and Marion Ross who married in 1836 in Muirkirk. They were all coal mining families.

The Gilmour line is interesting, as there was a line of Gilmours who owned coal mines. Allan Gilmour owned mines around Crookedholm, Hurlford and Galston, and many of my ancestors worked for him.
